long week in the rainy city. sell a few things, and painted a few things. Hearts not really into this shit. need a vacation, or a nice week in some monastary, or to sell a few more things... all the same. got palns for Madrid in Agosto... hot like Africa, Madrid in Agosto. you got yer Prado, yer Reina Sofia, and yer fiestas in the Lavipies barrio...where do you go when everyone else is goin too ? ... i wish to go somewhere cold, and the girl, she wants the beach... Spanish beaches in Agosto... it's like a horror film. BIG bodies in tiny swimsuits, and not a gram of shame, HEY ! LADY... YER SCARIN' THE KIDS !!!! ,sorta horror.
... some place cold... it's cold in South Africa. Cold in Patagona. "cold" in Austrailia... but we're goin' to Madrid, ya'll should come too. Gonna be empty, so it will... and theres always THOSE FIESTAS DE LAVIPIES !!!!! . i have no idea what to expect...

My father called last night. suprised? Yeah, i'm suprised. Called the movil fone, and that means something is amiss in americalandia... and we lose Ken, to a long illness. My uncle. A super military guy. Father, husband, and a freaky...
i lived in his house when i was about 13. He set up a darkroom for me which lead me to paint, which lead me to here...España. A cool guy. I will miss him. And now, we are three. The game seems to be getting more compliacated, and i , a poor artist, living in a very cold and weird place, is wondering if maybe it's just time to cut my losses and head for the ranch...??? am feeling alone on this long strange trip again folks...
So, sunday in the barrio. about 8:45am. the girls asleep, the dog...walked. I sit infront of this little ibook feeling it's the only one that understands me, or wishes to hear what i've got to say.... thanks mac. it's not the best of sundays, and am not looking forward to about 11:00... i feel that sensation again...Ambush. I'm covering my hair and eyes. i suggest ya'll do the same....

Look,and you will find...
I find another lost friend in our little digital world the other day. A creative animal that has shared in many a freakshow. Sounds the same, and different it has been 10 years since that phone call in the middle of the night, which reconnects this poor artist with the vechicle that landed me here, Thats España... do'nt know wether to thank the brother, or not... but little by little i'm re-grouping the loyal. I have a plan, we're all gonna be famous... huh, not that we already ar'nt. We will be more famous.
...so saturday in the barrio and the paintings go up today in the " Co-operitvia", three huge peices... lets see what happens...get a flight, we're waitin for ya'll....
and thats another day in this weird and beautiful land, thats España, 8 years and 224 days later... AND YOU ARE THERE...and could be here...

We are in the first hours of summer here in this weird and beautiful land, thats España friends.
Here in españa i have learned many things...left is right. up the street, is really down the street. and the words "Otro Dia Jess" is never never never. This i have learned to accept.... theres little choice. This Spain, and as we all know by now, Spain is different, So, this is why the green skys. The little girl asked the old man..." What colour is the sky?" and the old man sez "Green", and the little girl sez "oh". a half hour later, i see the little girl and with the dog, small white and non threatening, i ask her " what colour is the sky ?" and she sez... " blue, though my uncle, who is from pola de serio, sez its green, but he's nuts so we take him pretty lightly..." And i stand there listening to this 12 year old, she knows where she is, and of what to accept and what to call Nuts. The sky is green.

Watched "The Tourtured Poet" again yesterday. We were minor gods back then, back there....
Here, and as we know, this is España, we are celebrating 30 years of democracia and libertad. The king,Jaun Carlos, whom i think to be a cool guy, though he does'nt work, and this pisses some people off, but, he looks good standing there on his yacht, with Sofia, the queen, and i would take him seriously if he were to call... 034.636.54.68.25.....
... So, it's like 1999, and i'm in Caceres. Thats in Extramadura, and thats España, hot as hell, and i've this painting im wantin to put in a shop downtown. this is the painting (above)... the lady did'nt speak english, and at this moment, the beginnings of the long strange trip, i did'nt speak spanish... the lady, confused by the words and sounds comming out, Freaks and calls the police, and when they come , i'm asked to "Ven a ca...." Paco, the national police, whom is a friend of mine today, treated me kindly and told me that it would probably be better not to scare the locals with things that are new, or unusal...here in this backward little town.. in this weird and beautiful country .we drove around for awhile and i was dropped off infront of our weird little 12th century house...the girl asked how my day went..." oh fine. I'M out makin' friends. Anything to eat ?" I finally sold that peice to a lady in Madrid. She liked the history behind it,

This came today. It is the states way of saying " Sorry, huh" i remain indignant, not mad, but indignant.
The girl, and my Father, are the heros here. The sub heros, the people i stayed a few weeks with back in febuary... the workers from bolivia, brazil, nigeria, sudan, costa de marfil, morrocco russia,ukrania, moldavia,, all looking for somthing dignified to call a life ...i'm free, and am looking for whom is responsible, and responsiblities... The freakshow continues. The girl is happy, and the future is lookin' a little better from where i sit writting this....in Uvieu. 8 years and 231 days later.... All good, am a little more immortal than i felt yesterday....thus ready for the ambush at any moment...
